I've watched this movie alot and by far the FIRST HALF is creepy. Than some creepy parts towards the end, and than my DVR cut off the rest of 1408 : ... It makes the film more biblical. Well nah, the room is haunted and that's the cause, but his experiences in the movie draw a lot of parallels to mental illness. Sort of like how the haunting of hill house explores sleep paralysis using a woman who is haunted by a ghost, like an analogy of sorts.
