Jeep jk running hot.

Jun 21, 2016 · Does anyone know what the operating temperature of a 2015 JK is? The reason is, I think mine is running hot. If it's low there's a leak somewhere that needs to be fixed. Top the radiator up cold, then the overflow bottle when it's fully warmed up. It uses a special HOAT coolant, available ... Normally when the fan comes on after a few seconds/minutes of starting. There is either air in the coolant lines, or a stuck thermostat. There is a bleeder valve on the top of the thermostat. My 2013 JK (114,000k) is having issues overheating. Thermostat is not that old (about a year) so I replaced the PCV valve which was toast (and quite a pain in the arse). At idle or even low speeds (45-50) it’s fine. But as speed increases the temp goes up.

The jeep isn't running hot at all. The temp needle never gets past half or even up to half way. When I start the jeep the fan is not on.The fan will run with the A/C on or off. It seems that there are more complaints from owners with 12 plus 3.6 JK's running hot, but in most instances it's normal. The variable speed fan is a better set up than prior year JK's. From what I can find the 3.6L V-6 takes a 203 degree thermostat. The Mopar part is the housing and thermostat. 2003 Light Khaki TJ Rubicon, Manual, Soft Top.

Then I took it to a local jeep expert ( Arabia's Overkill) and they said the winch would not affect the air circulation because its low and the bumper shouldn't either.

Test the O2 sensors, they can get old and slow to react. Typical O2 sensor service life is about 100,000-150,000 miles. U might jack it up and check how free the wheels rotate. That would create some heat depending on how bad the caliper was sticking without necessarily much associated smell especially if your running ceramic pads.
